"Rat Salad" is a two-and-a-half minute instrumental by Black Sabbath, from their 1970 album Paranoid. The song is structured very similarly to Led Zeppelin's Moby Dick or Cream's Toad in that the most prominent feature is a drum solo by Bill Ward, bookended by guitar riffs by Tony Iommi.
Also, the band Van Halen actually considered adopting the name "Rat Salad" early on in their career, until then-lead singer David Lee Roth suggested using just "Van Halen."
