Raven's Nest
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Raven's Nest, later reincarnated as The Flock in World Championship Wrestling, and The Gathering and Serotonin in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, was a professional wrestling stable led by Raven that was present in Extreme Championship Wrestling between 1995 and 1997.

[edit] Raven's Nest
Raven's Nest was a large stable with a frequently fluctuating membership, consisting of Raven's lackeys, henchmen, paramours and several hired guns. The Nest chiefly assisted Raven throughout his feuds with Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman. Over the years, Raven's Nest members and allies included:
- Tony Stetson and Johnny Hotbody - Joined the Nest after heralding Raven as the "voice of their generation".
- Beulah McGillicutty - Beulah was a girl who Raven and Dreamer had supposedly both met at summer camp when they were teenagers. She had been fat, so Dreamer rejected her advances, and Raven slept with her instead. Stevie Richards (kayfabe) brought Beulah to ECW on April 8, 1995 to act as Raven's manager and girlfriend, realizing that he could channel her thirst for revenge against Dreamer into a useful weapon. Raven was initially shocked, and berated Richards for bringing "that fat piece of hell" to ECW, but changed his tune when it became apparent that Beulah had lost a great deal of weight, and had since appeared in Penthouse.
- The Pitbulls (Pitbull #1 and Pitbull #2)
- Don E. Allen and Dino Sendoff
- Kimona Wanalaya - Kimona replaced Beulah after Beulah left the Nest in January 1996.
- The Bruise Brothers - Don and Ron Bruise
- Miss Patricia
- Lori Fullington - The Sandman's wife.
- Tyler Fullington - The Sandman's seven year old son. Raven brainwashed Tyler into "worshipping" him, and had him turn on Sandman during a match, hitting him with a Singapore cane. While Tyler was physically incapable of helping Raven defeat The Sandman, he was a useful psychological distraction.
- Lupus
- Reggie Bennett
[edit] The Flock
The Flock was Raven's faction founded soon after his debut in World Championship Wrestling (WCW). All wrestlers in the faction adopted Raven's grunge gimmick, complete with similar ring attire.
Unlike other factions in WCW at the time, the group, though popular, met with limited success. They lost most of their matches, including a match with nWo Wolfpac members that lasted well under two minutes. The group disbanded after former member Perry Saturn won the rest of the members freedom from Raven on September 13, 1998 at Fall Brawl. The Flock is best remembered for hanging around in the crowd, usually at ringside, and then pouncing on any given wrestler.
Each member of the Flock was a social outcast for one reason or another and sought acceptance within the Flock.
- Lodi - Lodi had a deep psychological need for approval and acceptance, and so became Raven's most loyal lackey. He would carry placards to ringside with slogans written on them which promoted the Flock and mocked their opponents.
- Reese - Reese was abnormally tall, which, according to Raven, had led to him being ostracised.
- Billy Kidman - Kidman was homeless before meeting Raven. He had something of a heroin addict gimmick. He would constantly scratch his body, a sign of addiction, and his finisher was called "The Seven Year Itch"
- Riggs - After Raven hit him in the face with a chair, Riggs (kayfabe) became blind in one eye, and was forced to wear an eyepatch.
- Horace Boulder - Important to Raven because he was related to the then-WCW Champion, Hollywood Hogan.
- Stevie Richards
- Perry Saturn - Raven's enforcer.
- Sick Boy - Power Plant hopeful who mysteriously was succumbed to Raven's influence
- Van Hammer - Heavy Metal star turned wrestler who was released. Was able to work again upon joining the Flock
- Chris Kanyon - Like many Flock members, Kanyon feuded with Raven before eventually joining him.
[edit] The Gathering
When Raven joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, he reformed the Flock, this time calling them The Gathering. The original members were Julio Dinero and Alexis Laree, with CM Punk joining the group soon after its inception. Punk and Dinero played 'adoring Raven fanboy' gimmicks, and as such, Raven was always the main focus of the group. The stable can be likened to The Flock. At one point, Raven disbanded the Gathering claiming the group had achieved everything he set out to do, leaving Punk and Dinero as the sole remaining members (Laree having previously been signed to a contract by the WWE). CM Punk finally left TNA during the Rob Feinstein controversy, and feuded with Raven in the independent federations Major League Wrestling and Ring of Honor. Julio Dinero was eventually released. Raven is the only former Gathering member left in TNA.
When The Gathering dissolved Raven became "a man with no friends", occasionally aligning himself with longtime rival Sabu, though making nothing permanent of it. In addition, Cassidy Riley popped up as an "admirer" of Raven, helping him in his feud with Larry Zbyszko until Raven lost a match that allowed Zbyszko to tear up Ravens contract.
[edit] Serotonin
Recently, Kazarian, Matt Bentley, and Johnny Devine have appeared with drastically changed appearances. They have called themselves a Movement. At TNA Genesis 2006, They referred to a Redeemer before their match with the Voodoo Kin Mafia. After the match, Bentley and Kazarian dragged Devine back to the ring. They followed by Raven, who attacked Devine with a Kendo Stick. Although they have called themselves a "Movement", the name "Serotonin" seems to be the name of the new Flock which appeared during a Raven promo video during the November 23rd edition of iMPACT.
