The Ray of Creation is a esoteric cosmology which was taught in the Fourth Way school founded by G.I. Gurdjieff.

Coming from oneness, the ray's second step is an "absolute" which is the Law of Three. There is supposed to be a distinction between the "oneness" and the "absolute" (even though these terms have similar meanings). The difference in meaning is blurred, as are many meanings in Gurdjieff teachings. It is often thought to be entirely allegorical, though some adherents would suggest a link to the physics of string theory. The overall shape of the ray is composed of levels stepping downward from the (Three in one) absolute. At each level there are a different set of Laws. For example, twelve laws govern the Sun Level and six laws govern the All Suns Level.

The levels are also attributed a hydrogen number corresponding to the number of laws.

The levels have been described by Gurdjieff and his followers as an example of the Law of Octaves.
