Real Radio South Wales was the first radio station within the GMG Radio's Real Radio brand. It is primarily broadcast on FM across south Wales, although it is also available on DAB via the MXR Severn Estuary multiplex. It is also available on Sky Digital channel 0146.

The station was launched with an introduction from Tom Jones, followed by John Myers introducing the song A Star is Born.
