Real Radio (Yorkshire) is the third regional radio station within the Real Radio brand (the first being in South Wales). The managing director for the station is Shaun Bowron. Its main studios are based in Tingley, near Wakefield.
While obstensibly aimed at all ages, it is clear from the musical policy of the station that the average age of the listener is 25+. The station plays music from the 70's to present, predominantly ballads, love songs and Middle of the road rock and pop.
Late night presenter 'Umberto' provides a 'no holds barred' phone in which often deals with both comical and serious issues of an adult content. The talk show is one of the last remaning in the area. Other presenters include Yorkshire TV Weathergirl Debbie Lindley.
The station transmits from Emley Moor on 106.2 MHz FM, which covers the majority of South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, including Leeds, York, Doncaster, Huddersfield and Rotherham. It also broadcasts from Idle on 107.6 MHz FM to Bradford and Halifax, and on 107.7 MHz FM from Tapton Hill to Sheffield.
