Rhizophora is a genus of tropical trees. The most notable species is the Red mangrove (Rhizophora mangle). Rhizophora generally lives in inter-tidal areas which are indundated daily by the tides. They have a number of adaptations suited to this environment, namely propagules (stilt-roots) that allow them to breath in the anaerobic environment.
