Richard B. Frank

Richard B. Frank (born 1947 in Kansas) is an American lawyer and military historian.

Frank graduated from the University of Missouri in 1969, after which he served four years in the United States Army. During the Vietnam War, he served a tour of duty as a platoon leader in the 101st Airborne Division. In 1976 he graduated from Georgetown University Law Center.

Frank has written two well-regarded books and several articles on the Pacific campaign of World War II. He is particularly noted for his ability to find, translate, and incorporate details from Japanese records into the historical events that he describes in his books.
