Richard Gottehrer

Richard Gottehrer is an American songwriter, record producer and record label executive.

Gottehrer came to prominence as a song writer in the 1960s with his most notable songs being "My Boyfriend's Back" and "I Want Candy". By the 1970s he had progressed to record production, and was responsible for the debut albums by Blondie and Go-Gos. Among the other artists produced by Gottehrer were Joan Armatrading, The Fleshtones, The Bongos, Richard Barone, and Mental As Anything.

With Seymour Stein, Gottehrer founded Sire Records, and in 1997 he founded The Orchard a digital music distribution company.
