This list of richest American politicians (as of January 30, 2005) includes living and deceased office-holders, office-seekers and political appointees.

All figures are estimates. There is no uniform disclosure requirement for personal wealth, and indeed no consistent way to measure it. Figures may be wildly inaccurate.

This is an incomplete list, which may never be able to satisfy certain standards for completeness. Revisions and sourced additions are welcome.
