Rio Grande Games
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rio Grande Games is a publisher of German-style board games in English. The company, run by Jay Tummelson, is based in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Rio Grande's approach is to publish the English-language version of the game simultaneously with the German production. This lowers their manufacturing costs, and enables them to use the high-quality German game production values.
Game components are typically language-independent, with only the rules and the box requiring localization.
Games published by the company include Carcassonne, Caylus, Elfenland, Java, Lost Cities, Puerto Rico, Samurai, Torres, Wyatt Earp, and San Juan.
