Roland Dumas

Roland Dumas (born 23 August 1922 in Limoges, Haute-Vienne) is a lawyer and French Socialist politician who served as Foreign Minister under Laurent Fabius from 1984 to 1986, and again under Michel Rocard, Edith Cresson, and Pierre Bérégovoy from 1988 to 1993. He later became the President of France's Constitutional Council from 1995 to 1999.
He has been implicated in numerous scandals but has been exonerated from all of them so far. Whilst President of the Constitutional Counsel, the body argued in favour for complete judicial immunity for the President of the Republic - a controversial decision given Jacques Chirac's implication in numerous scandals as well as Dumas.
Dumas is a member of the Emergency Committee for Iraq. He is a graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (better known as Sciences Po).
