Image:Rugby League Tri-Nations Logo.png The Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) is the world governing body for the sport of Rugby League. They are responsible for organising international competitions such as the World Cup and Tri-Nations, as well as fixing the laws of the game and co-ordinating international development.
The impetus for forming the federation came from the French, and the RLIF was founded in 1948 at a meeting in Bordeaux, France.
The RLIF has no permanent buildings or administration. In reality it simply consists of a series of meetings between administrators from the leading nations.
