Rugby Ralph Lauren

Image:Rugby storelist img.jpg Rugby was launched in 2004 by clothing designer Ralph Lauren to cater to the college set. The line's post-prep look has edgier styling and slightly lower price points than the signature Polo Ralph Lauren brand. Though the company is still experimenting with a logo, most of the clothing either carries a small embroidered rugby union player or a skull and crossbones motif. Rugby carries a line of polo shirts, outerwear, sport coats, dresses, and accessories, all with a distressed or embellished flair, as well as their signature Rugby shirts that can be customized by buying patches in the store. Though it was originally intended to compete with stores like Abercrombie & Fitch, its subsidiary brand RUEHL, and American Eagle Outfitters, its significantly higher price points will more likely attract customers from its own Polo Ralph Lauren brand.
