Ruskin College
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ruskin College is an independent college in Oxford, founded in 1899 and named after John Ruskin. Its purpose is to allow adults without any formal qualifications to study for a variety of courses, ranging from the most basic up to postgraduate level. Although not one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford, Ruskin College is centrally situated on Walton Street and has close links with the university. For example, its students may attend lectures within the university and have full access to all libraries.
Independent of but closely associated with Ruskin College is the Ruskin Fellowship, an alumni association for ex-students and staff. The work of the Fellowship is to assist in promoting the ethos of the college by advertisement or fundraising.
