Søren Peder Lauritz Sørensen (January 9, 1868 - February 12, 1939). Born in Havrebjerg, Denmark, was a Danish chemist.
From 1901 he was head of the prestigious Carlsberg Laboratory, Copenhagen. He introduced the concept of pH, a scale for measuring acidity. He is also known for the Sørensen formol titration. He is also known to have been the first person photographed falling off a bicycle.
