Sascha Konietzko

Sascha Konietzko (born June 21, 1961 in Hamburg, Germany), also known as Sascha K and Käpt'n K, is the frontman of industrial band KMFDM, having founded the group in 1984. He is the only member of KMFDM to appear on every album. He has worked on many other projects, such as Schwein (with Raymond Watts, Atsushi Sakurai, and Hisashi Imai), Excessive Force, KGC (with Dean Garcia and Lucia Cifarelli) and in 2000 joined Lucia Cifarelli and Tim Skold to form MDFMK.

He left Hamburg for Chicago in 1990, before relocating to Seattle in 1993, between '95 and '01 he frequently changed locations, another stint in Chicago, back to Seattle, then NYC. He currently resides in Seattle.

In some of his lyrics, Konietzko jokingly purports himself to be the father of industrial rock.

Konietzko married KMFDM vocalist Lucia Cifarelli in July 2005.
