Sher can have a variety of meanings:
- Sher or She'r (Arabic: شعر) is the common word for poem in Arabic and Persian.
- A sher is also a form of dance in Eastern European folk music, notably Russian and Klezmer music.
Sher or Shir is also a Persian word meaning Lion or Tiger
- Sher Shah Suri was the king of Suri dynasty in India.
- Sher-e-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh was the Lion of Punjab
- The Shirokhorshid (Lion and sun) was a Flag of Iran.
