Shilin District (Traditional Chinese: 士林區; Hanyu Pinyin: Shìlín Qū; Tongyong Pinyin: Shìhlín Cyu; Wade-Giles: Shih-lin Ch'ü; Taiwanese: Sū-lîm-khu) is a district of Taipei. The name "Shilin" was derived from an idiom meaning "scholars as many as the trees in the woods" (士多如林).

Shilin is foremost a residential district and has several famous neighbourhoods, such as Waishuangxi (外雙溪) and Tianmu. Kuomintang leader Chiang Kai-Shek lived in Shilin after he moved the Chinese nationalist government to Taiwan. A large foreign population lives in Shilin; both the Taipei American School and the Taipei Japanese School are located in this district. (Shilin even has a Mormon temple.)

Tourist attractions include the Yangmingshan National Park, the National Palace Museum, Chiang Kai-shek's residence (士林官邸), and the Shilin Night Market.

Shilin has three universities: Ming Chuan University, Soochow University, and the Chinese Culture University.

The General Headquarters of the R.O.C. Navy is in Shilin.
