Simon Carless was born in London, England, but has since moved to San Francisco, where he is an editor for Game Developer Magazine, as well Gamasutra, and also a chairman and judge for the Independent Games Festival, all of which are run by the same company, CMP. He was formerly the editor of the games page on Slashdot, and he has also worked as a lead game designer at Eidos Interactive and Atari, to name a couple. His best known work is probably Gaming Hacks, a book published by Oreilly Media.
