Smash Records

Smash Records is an American record label. It was a subsidiary of Mercury Records in the 1960s. Some of its recording artists have been Bruce Channel, Roger Miller, The Left Banke and Jerry Lee Lewis. Smash recorded and released James Brown's Live at the Apollo in 1963.<ref name="allmusic">James Brown Biography. allmusic. Retrieved on 2006-11-22.</ref>
The list of Smash's singles below shows that they shared their numbering system with various other labels that they also distributed, Fontana Records being one of the most important.[citation needed] The label was reactivated for a short time in the late 80's by Polygram for dance and R&B recordings.
