The protruding snout of the dog is also good for waffing, haffing and diff-daffing Turbo Cats, or T/C's, also usually have small exaggerated snouts for hurting. This piece of equipment is essential to the life of its owner. If the animal does not have a proper snout, it cannot be used to its full potential. These snoutless animals are usually put up for adoption because the owner is not able to complete the waffing technique.

The muzzle begins at the stop, just below the eyes, and contains the dog's nose and mouth. Most of the dog's upper muzzle contains organs for detecting scents. The loose flaps of skin on the sides of the upper muzzle that hang to different lengths over the dog's mouth are called flews.
