Sognsvannsbanen is a subway line on the Oslo T-bane system, between downtown Oslo and Sognsvann. The line was opened on October 10 1934. The line serves northwestern and northern neighborhoods, mostly in the Nordre Aker borough. The line has stations serving the University of Oslo, and other stations further north which are close to student dormitories.

Sognsvannsbanen was the first line on the west side which was upgraded to metro standard with third rail replacing overhead wire and longer platforms. The new T-baneringen shares track with Sognsvannsbanen between Majorstuen and Ullevål stadion. The line is now connected with Østensjøbanen in the east as line number 3.
