Sonata for Clarinet and Piano (Bernstein)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Leonard Bernstein's Sonata for Clarinet and Piano was published in 1942, and was Bernstein's first published piece. It is dedicated to clarinetist David Oppenheim, whom Bernstein met at the Tanglewood school. The piece has two movements: a lyrical grazioso followed by a jazzy andantino that foreshadows Bernstein's work in West Side Story.
