Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research (SFBR) is a large private research institute located in San Antonio Texas.

With 400 staff and a 397 acre campus, SFBR is "one of the world's leading independent biomedical research institutions."[1]

SFBR houses the Southwest National Primate Research Center, the world's largest Baboon colony for biomedical research.

SFBR is also home to the only privately owned Biosafety level 4 (BSL-4) laboratory in the United States.

The foundations SBC Genomics Computing Center is "the world's largest computer cluster devoted to statistical genetic analysis."
