St. Patrick's High School, located in Ottawa, Ontario, was founded in 1929 by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. It is a catholic high school publicly funded under the Ontario school system as part of the Ottawa-Carleton Catholic School Board. Students at the school come from diverse and multicultural backgrounds. The school is also known for its excellent sports program.

The Fighting Irish are known for their athletic prowess playing in the NCSSAA (National Capital Secondary Schools Athletic Association). Their sports teams often dominate Ottawa play and Ontario play. Each year the school sends team to OFSAA, the provincial championships in many athletic disciplines. Recently the Senior Boys Basketball Team, the Senior Boys Soccer Team and The Senior Boys Football Team have enjoyed much success, advancing to many finals, including numerous championships. The school has also produced many star athletes who have gone on to have successful collegiate careers.[citation needed]
