STAR World is STAR TV's English language entertainment television channel in some parts of Asia. It is the successor to STAR Plus, which is now the name of STAR TV's Hindi entertainment channel.

STAR World started operations as STAR Plus View Schedule. In 1992, Zee TV was the only Hindi language channel. Later, after STAR Plus ended its relationship with Zee TV and STAR Plus is now Hindi, STAR TV launced STAR World. It now airs shows from the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada (English only) and Australia. It is aired in Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Israel, Bangladesh, the rest of the Middle East, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. It is also aired on many United States military cable systems in Japan. In Hong Kong, STAR World is available exclusively on now TV (owned by PCCW), from February 2006. In 2005, STAR World changed it's logo color scheme from maroon to violet and had an official theme song which is Let's Get It Started by Black Eyed Peas.

In India STAR World is the only English television network to broadcast popular American shows like Law and Order and Friends. It is also known for it's distinctive bold colour scheme of white, red and blue. It is offered in digital format through Satellite TV networks in Hong Kong and India.

Star News Asia is a half hour newscast broadcast from Hong Kong on Star World throughout Asia and on Star News in the United Kingdom. It's principal anchor is Deborah Kan.
