Svelte

Svelte is an alternative rock style geek band from Vancouver, British Columbia. Made up of Dave Shumka, Gary Russell, Kerry O'Donovan, Martin Danyluk, and Pete Reinhardt. Some songs are irreverent (The Five Alive Song), some are injokes (Flying With Jackson), while others are blunt criticisms (Shoe Girl). They have released two CDs, Don't Panic and I Dig Your Mainframe.

Svelte is also a New Zealand band formed by two ex Supergroove members, Tim Stewart & Ben Sciascia with drummer Jamie Woolright: Svelte's Site MySpace Page

svelte is also an adjective, which usually means attractively thin. It is mainly used as a compliment, as words like "thin" and "skinny" could be used in negative connotations. alternative meaning: showing a high degree of refinement and the assurance that comes from wide social experience
