Svetlana Zakharova

Svetlana Zakharova (born 1979) is a principal dancer at the Bolshoi Ballet, nowadays one of the highest paid ballet dancers, after Sylvie Guillem and Diana Vishneva.
She used to work with the Mariinsky Ballet, but took up a long standing open offer of work with the Bolshoi, because she was discontent at the Mariinsky.<ref name = balco> Interview with Zakharova. ballet.co.uk.</ref>
She often tours and guests with other famous and important ballet companies in the world. She is also known to have very high extensions and is constantly compared to a gymnast.
