Tōkai region
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Tōkai region (東海, literally East Sea) is a subregion of Chūbu, Japan along the Pacific Ocean. The name comes from Tōkaidō, one of the Edo Five Routes.
The prefectures consisting the Tōkai region are unfixed. From the geographic point of view, they are Shizuoka, Aichi and the southern part of Gifu, but the economic tie between Aichi, Gifu and Mie is considerably strong.
