Tammuz (month)

Tammuz (Hebrew: תמוז, Standard Tammuz Tiberian Tammûz) is the tenth month of the ecclesiastical year and the fourth month of the civil year on the Hebrew calendar. It is a summer month of 29 days. Tammuz usually falls out in JuneJuly on the Gregorian calendar.

The name of the month was adopted from the Babylonian calendar, in which the month was named after one of the main Babylonian gods, Tammuz (Sumerian Dumuzi).
