Temora is a town located in south western New South Wales in Australia and also a Local Government Area (see Temora Shire Council). Population 6,337 from the 2001 census. It is in the Riverina and has a variety of agricultural and farming industries including wheat and canola and sheep. It has the second largest honey producer in Australia. It is the location for the Temora Aviation Museum, which has a large range of aircraft, including Australia's only two flying Spitfires<ref>Supermarine Spitfire Mk VIII (html). History. The town also has a rural museum.

Temora is reputed to be the friendliest town in New South Wales, following a series of mentions in the Sydney Morning Herald's Column 8, which organised a bus trip to Temora for Sydney readers in 2005.

Temora started as a pastoral station in 1847. Gold was discovered later in the area, and a small village established. A railway line came to Temora in 1897.

In the early twentieth century, Temora was among a number of places in New South Wales settled by people of German origin.<ref>Nutting, David (2001).
