  • Commonly used in science fiction, typically as the name of humanity's homeworld, instead of "Earth", particularly in science fiction which has an interstellar human government with Earth at its core (examples: the Terran Confederation from Wing Commander, the Terran Federation(s) (from Starfire and Starship Troopers, respectively), the Terran Alliance and its successor, the Terran Hegemony, from BattleTech, and the Terran Empire from the Star Trek mirror universe. Also, other alien races occasionally refer to Earth as Terra (and its inhabitants Terrans) in the Star Trek universe.
  • Terra is the name of an Earthlike planet in the original version of Battlestar Galactica.
  • Terra Branford is a fictional character from the video game Final Fantasy VI.
