"The Bitterest Pill (I Ever Had To Swallow)" was a single released by The Jam after the success of the album The Gift. Although it did not appear on any of the band's studio albums it charted at #2 in the UK Singles chart when released on 18th September 1982.
The B-side to the single was "Pity Poor Alfie/Fever".
