The Long Voyage Home is a 1940 film which tells the story of the crew and passengers aboard a doomed freighter. It stars John Wayne, Thomas Mitchell, Ian Hunter, Barry Fitzgerald, Wilfrid Lawson, John Qualen, Mildred Natwick and Ward Bond.

The film was adapted by Dudley Nichols from the plays The Moon of the Caribees, In The Zone, Bound East for Cardiff and The Long Voyage Home by Eugene O'Neill. It was directed by John Ford.

The movie was nominated for six Oscars including the Academy Award for Best Picture. It was also nominated for Best Screenplay (Dudley Nichols), Best Cinematography (Gregg Toland), Editing (Sherman Todd), Music (Richard Hageman) and Visual Effects (R.T. Layton, Ray Binger, Thomas Moulton).
