The Parent Trap II is a made-for-TV sequel to The Parent Trap that first screened on The Disney Channel in 1986.

Mary and Nicki are best friends and they want their unsuspecting single parents to marry. Nicki's mother Sharon (the twin of Susan) wants to move to New York City though. With the help of Susan, they try to get the two together.

In this movie, the two girls are named Mary Grant and Nikki Ferris. Hayley Mills, star of the original Parent Trap, played a character named Mary Grant in In Search of the Castaways (1962) and a character named Nikky Ferris in The Moon-Spinners (1964).

Two characters' names are Walter and Lillian Elias. Walt Disney's middle name was Elias and his wife's name was Lillian.
