The Toasters are a ska band from New York formed in 1981 by Robert 'Bucket' Hingley. They are considered the longest active ska band in the United States.

Many consider them the first true band of the U.S. era of ska but having a strong influence from the British Two Tone movement.

The Toasters have been around for over 20 years, with Robert Hingley the only original member left. They have released many albums, most of them on the now-defunct Moon Ska record label, at one time the world's largest ska-only record label, founded and owned by Hingley. Since the folding of Moon Ska in the early 2000s, Hingley has founded a new label, Megalith Records.<ref>megalithrecords.com from history section, retrieved October 12, 2006</ref>
Their first full length album, Skaboom!, is considered one of the classics of modern ska music, and they enjoyed a small degree of commercial success in the late 1990s due to the North American ska explosion, being the music for the Nickelodeon show KaBlam! (credited as the "moon ska stompers") and background music in countless TV commercials, most notably a line of America Online and Coca-Cola ads.
The Toasters are credited as being the oldest surviving Ska band in the United States, still appearing live all over the world with many of the newer ska acts.
