The Zodiacs were a singing group headed by Maurice Williams in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Originally called "The Royal Charms", the band changed its name to "The Gladiolas" in 1957 and "The Excellos" in 1958, before finally settling on "The Zodiacs" in 1959.

The "Gladiolas" were the group that had the original version of "Little Darlin" which was covered by a Canadian group called The Diamonds, who pushed aside "The Gladiolas" version and had the hit of the song.

They are best known for their 1960 hit "Stay", which is the shortest recording ever to reach number one on the charts. A version of the song is the last track on Jackson Browne's album "Running on Empty."
