Toluca Lake is a district in the San Fernando Valley region of the City of Los Angeles, California.

It is situated in the southeastern San Fernando Valley between the city of Burbank, the Los Angeles district of North Hollywood and the unincorporated county area of Universal City. The area's historic boundaries are Cahuenga Boulevard, Clybourn Avenue, Camarillo Street and the Los Angeles River.

An upscale community marked by tranquil neighborhoods, it is 12 miles north of downtown Los Angeles and favored by Hollywood professionals looking to get "out of the city," while still residing within the L.A. City limits. It is located between two major studios, Universal Studios to the south and Warner Bros. to the east.

The Santa Monica Mountains surround the quiet, picturesque streets and provide plenty of recreational opportunities. The six-acre Toluca Lake offers fishing, swimming and boating. The private Lakeside Golf Club wraps around Toluca Lake. This lake is completely surrounded by private homes and has been seen by very few people other than those who live there or have visited one of the homes.

The curving, tree-lined streets and diverse assortment of homes is a favorite for television and movie scouts, and film crews are very frequent.

It is represented by City Councilman Tom LaBonge in the Los Angeles City Council.

In the motion picture Pulp Fiction, Jules' friend Jimmie lives in Toluca Lake. Jules and his partner Vincent hide here after Vincent inadvertently shoots and kills Marvin.

It was also home to the first IHOP Restaurant in 1958. However, today there is no longer an IHOP in Toluca Lake.

In the Silent Hill series of video games, Toluca Lake is the name of the body of water around which the fictional town of Silent Hill is located.
