Torsion pendulum clock

Torsion clocks are a group of mechanical timepieces which utilize the torsional properties of a fine steel ribbon to control the oscillation of a disc or 4-ball pendulum. Clocks of this type are known as 400-day, Anniversary, torsion, Atmos etc.
Clocks of this type are capable of running for much longer than regular pendulum clocks without being reset. For this reason, a torsion pendulum is planned for use in the Clock of the Long Now.
