Trente Glorieuses

The Trente Glorieuses (thirty glorious, meaning thirty glorious years) refers to the years between 1945 (end of the Second World War) and 1974 (following the 1973 energy crisis) in France.
The name was first used by the French demographer Jean Fourastié. It is derived from the Trois Glorieuses (Three Glorious) — three days of revolution on 27–29 July 1830 in France.
During the thirty-year period, the French economy, then run in a dirigiste manner by the Gaullist government, grew at very high rates. The French standard of living, which had been ruined by both World Wars, then became one of the world's highest.
