Trophy Truck
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Trophy Trucks are the largest and fastest class of off-road racing vehicles which resemble Pickup trucks. Trophy Trucks can be either front or mid engined, are most often 2-wheel drive, and feature a 4130 chromoly tube-frame chassis covered by a fiberglass or other composite body. Engines are naturally-aspirated V8s generating in excess of 700 bhp, and suspension travel can exceed 30 inches. Most frequently associated with the Baja 1000 race, trophy trucks can reach speeds in excess of 140 miles per hour, even over rough terrain, putting them among the fastest off-road vehicles in the world.
