[edit] Songs from the Little Road
TrueRoots' most recent documentary production, Songs from the Little Road, focuses on the folk art and culture of the Indian state of West Bengal. The lives, methods, and values of the patuas, or scroll painters, indigenous to the area are explored as they struggle to survive in the growing media market of West Bengal. In addition to traveling to West Bengal to live with the patuas, TrueRoots has held fundraisers to support the continuation of the dying artform.
In addition to an upcoming project in Guatemala, TrueRoots produces innovative music videos for local Boston musicians. The organization has also expanded to Norway, forming TrueRoots Europe.
