Turkish Thrace

Turkish Thrace, or Eastern Thrace, is the part of the modern republic of Turkey that is geographically part of Europe, all in the eastern part of the historical region of Thrace, while most of the surface and population is in Anatolia, the former Asia Minor. It is also called northwestern Turkey and European Turkey.
It comprises three ilet (republican provinces) and part of a forth:
- Edirne Province, named after Edirne, the former Adrianopolis, the historical capital of the Ottoman vilayet that comprised all Thrace.
- Kırklareli Province
- Tekirdağ Province
- İstanbul Province (partly in Anatolia)
