USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-J)

The ship is featured in the episode "Azati Prime" of Star Trek: Enterprise and was purportedly built in the 26th century. With a diverse crew that included members of the Xindi race, the Enterprise-J, along with a fleet of Federation ships, fought against and defeated the Sphere Builders at the Battle of Procyon Five. Crewman Daniels brings Captain Jonathan Archer forward from the 22nd century so that Archer can witness this battle.

Following their defeat in the 26th century, the Sphere Builders of the 22nd century predict their race's eventual destruction (the Sphere Builders have demonstrated the ability to perceive alternate timelines) and attempt to convince the Xindi that humans are a dangerous threat; it is, in fact, the Sphere Builders who set the Xindi story arc into motion.

After the Enterprise and Xindi's combined efforts bring the sphere network down in 2154, it seems unlikely that this timeline continues as depicted; whether the Enterprise-J exists in the 26th century after the human/Xindi victory apparently alters the flow of history remains to be seen.

Despite its tenuous place in Star Trek history, the Enterprise-J is nonetheless featured in the 2005 Ships of the Line calendar that features images of the various starships seen on Star Trek throughout the years. The Enterprise J is also seen in the Ships of the Line poster released in the Star Trek Magazine issue #1.
