[edit] Features

uShip provides a reverse auction model where service providers competitively bid against each other. uShip also provides a feedback rating system, similar to that of eBay, which enables trust and credibility to be built between service providers and their customers.

[edit] Criticism

Shippers need to use caution when accepting a bid as Uship does not provide a resource to validate the carriers. This can lead to unauthorized carriers transporting your goods and the shipper participating in activities that can end up with the goods never arriving at the destination at worst or the shipper actually participating in illegal activities and being liable to the DOT for fines. More information about authorized carriers and the use of unauthorized carriers can be located at www.DOT.gov. Please insure you understand that while Uship does provide a service, there is not a lot of protection from unscrupulous carriers. Additional information can be found on Uship.com community page under various postings.
