University Medical Center, Las Vegas

University Medical Center (UMC), a non-profit hospital, is the only hospital run by Clark County, Nevada. It is located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The hospital was founded in 1931 and is affiliated with the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

Level I trauma center, the only one in Nevada. The trauma center provides both adult and pediatric care over portions of a 4 states (Nevada, California, Arizona, Utah).
Burn care facility, the only one in Nevada, the Lions Burn Care Center.

Previous names included:

UMC was first designated as a Level I trauma center in 1998.

Rapper Tupac Shakur died here on September 13, 1996.
Roy Horn of Siegfried & Roy was stabilized here after he was attacked by one of his own tigers on October 3, 2003. Roy was subsequently transferred to UCLA Medical Center for recovery and rehabilitation.
