The 8^th arrondissement, located on the Right Bank, is one of the 20 arrondissements of Paris, France. With the 2nd, and 9th arrondissement, it partially hosts the most important business center of Paris, which is located around the Opéra. With 171,444 jobs, it is the most important arrondissement in business.

The 8th arrondissement hosts many of Paris places of interest, such as the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde. It also hosts the Élysée, which is the official residence of the French President.

The peak of population of Paris 8th arrondissement happened as early as in 1891 with 107,485 inhabitants. Since then, the arrondissement has widely attracted companies. As a result, the population was in 1999 only of 39,314 inhabitants for 171,444 jobs. The land area of this arrondissement is exactly of 3.881 km² (1.498 sq. miles).
