This article is about the Brazilian soccer player. For the Mega Man X character, see Vile (Mega Man X).

Vavá, real name Edvaldo Izidio Neto, (born November 12, 1934 in Recife, died January 19, 2002) was a Brazilian football player. He was a striker(center forwards) for C.R. Vasco da Gama, S.E. Palmeiras and the Brazilian national team. Vava is widely regarded as one of the greatest Brazilian strikers ever.

He received 22 caps with the Brazilian national team, and won both the 1958 and 1962 World Cups (with respectively 5 and 4 goals).

Vava is one of only four footballers to have achieved the feat of scoring in two different world cup final matches, sharing that honor with Pelé, Paul Breitner, and Zinedine Zidane.
