Votkinsk

Votkinsk (Russian: Во́ткинск) is an industrial town in the Republic of Udmurtia, Russia. It is located about 1,000 km ENE of Moscow, at . Population: 99,441 (2002 Census).
It was the birthplace (1840) and early residence of Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology operates a machine plant here which produces some of Russia's long-range ballistic missiles.
Under the Treaty on Intermediate and Short Range Missiles (INF) concluded between the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the missile production facility at Votkinsk was selected for long-term on-site monitoring by U.S. inspectors. The corresponding site for the USSR in the United States was the Hercules missile production facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.
