WCNN (AM)

WCNN AM is a radio station at 680 kHz in Atlanta that is known primarily by the nickname "680 The Fan". They are a local sports radio talk format. The callsign was taken from the CNN Headline News audio format that the station pioneered.
680 began as WRNG, Atlanta's first talk station known as "Ring Radio". It was the first broadcast home of Neal Boortz, now at WSB-AM, as well as syndicated.
In 1982, the station began an experiment by broadcasting the audio feed of CNN Headline News. The call letters were changed to WCNN. While no longer on WCNN, The CNN Headline News audio feed continues today on many radio stations in the United States as a satellite-delivered service of Westwood One.
In the late 80's, the station temporarily switched to a standards format and changed its call letters to WGTW (after the movie Gone With The Wind. The format failed and the Headline News audio and WCNN calls returned.
In 1995, WCNN was leased to Cox Radio for a 5 year term. The format was switched to sports talk as "680 The Fan". In 1998, the format switched to news/talk to compliment WSB-AM's programming.
In 2000, when the LMA expired, control WCNN returned to Dickey Broadcasting. "680 The Fan" returned.
680 is the Atlanta radio home of the Atlanta Thrashers and of the Auburn Tigers. WCNN is also an affiliate of ESPN Radio.

- 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.: The Dan Patrick Show, ESPN Syndication
- 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.: The Buck and Kincade Show with Buck Belue, University of Georgia Quarterback, 1980 National Champions, and John Kincade, Temple Graduate and former Flyers employee.
